The Census Business Builder (CBB) is a suite of services that provides key demographic and economic data to help entrepreneurs start a new business or expand an existing one.  It presents data for a single type of business and geography at a time. See tips on how to use this database.

Data.Census.Gov -- U.S. Census Bureau

This is the site that replaces American FactFinder. It is already live. Search function works well, and it helps if you are familiar with the kinds of data the Census Bureau collects. Use the help features/information on the page to learn more about using this site.

Consumer Expenditure Survey

From the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, this site provides information on the buying habits of American consumers.
