To begin with you will need to find at least two credible sources for background information which provide context for the issue addressed in your article.
Your annotated bibliography will also need to include at least three scholarly books.
Background information comes in different formats. Books are often good because they provide in-depth information. Articles can help to provide more current updates. Careful Web searching and evaluation of Web-based sources can also provide good background information, though usually not as detailed as books.

Books in the library are organized by subject area and shelved by call number according to the Library of Congress classification system which groups items by subject, so you can often simply browse the shelves once you find the right areas.
