Search most of the library's resources by typing your search terms in the OneSearch box and clicking "search." You will be taken to a new page with search results.
If you want to search for a specific phrase, put the phrase in quotation marks. Example: "climate change"
Once you are on the search results page, you can limit your search results with the facets on the left hand side of the page under "Filter my results."
You can also opt to start your search with an advanced search, which is linked just below the OneSearch box. See the screenshot below:
Once you are in the Advanced Search page, you have a variety of options to help limit your search including limiting the search results to books, articles, course reserves, language, and date among other options.
Once you have started your search and are looking at the search results page, you can limit your search results to online materials (online articles, eBooks, and streaming media) by clicking on the "Available Online" facet on the left hand side of the search results page. See the screenshot below:
You can also limit your search results to just peer-reviewed journal articles by clicking on the "Peer-reviewed Journals" facet on the left hand side of the search results page. See the screenshot below:
If you're looking for items physically in the library (print books, DVDs, CDs, etc), you can limit your search results by selecting the "Available on Campus" facet on the left hand side of the search results page. See the screenshot below:
You can also narrow your search results to a specific location by selecting a library under the "Library" facet on the left hand side of the search results page.
Primo has several useful features that can help you keep track of your research. These helpful features include:
Link Icon = provides you with a permalink to the item
Envelope Icon = email yourself the link to item record.
Pushpin icon = save this item to your list of favorites within your OneSearch account
Ellipsis Icon = leads you to more tools
